The Rroma-Workers Network (RWN), Romania, is run in partnership with Pioneers of Australia. (See About Pioneers for more information).

The RWN was established by Manda Pidgeon, in November 2014, after much research, prayer and experience of living and working alongside Rroma people and communities in Romania.

Manda writes- “Since I began ministering in Romania in 2008, God has gradually changed my ministry focus, and given me a heartbeat and a vision for the Rroma people of Romania. Often called by the pejorative term ‘Gypsies’, the Rroma people have a deplorable history. Most Rroma have no identification papers, and therefore no nationality or homeland, let alone access to education, employment or healthcare. They are virtually an ‘invisible’ people whose numbers remain difficult to count. With an ongoing distrust between Rroma and the rest of society, these marginalised people struggle to find purpose and belonging in the world around them.

This lack of trust makes it difficult to reach Rroma communities, however, through my study and personal experience, I realised that there are many Christian workers, including foreigners, Romanians and Rroma themselves, who are already bringing the hope of Jesus to these people. Talking with these workers, I heard more and more of their passion and yet their exhaustion, with many burning-out or struggling to know how to effectively reach out to the Rroma communities where God has called them to minister.

God took these pleas for help and planted a vision in my heart to develop the Rroma-Workers Network (RWN) in Romania, in November 2014. Whilst the RWN began as a project of International Teams Australia (1991-2020), it is now run in partnership with Pioneers. The network has since grown to over 150 workers/organisations who live and minister all over Romania.

The RWN seeks to “encourage, equip and empower Rroma-workers to reach Rroma communities with the Gospel”, enabling them to work with each other, share resources, attend conferences, and ultimately become more effective in their ministries."

RWN Statement of Faith (English)
  1. ​​​WE BELIEVE in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  2. WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of the virgin Mary, was true God and true man existing in one person and was without sin. We believe in His representative and substitutionary sacrifice, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father, His present life as Lord of all, High Priest and Advocate, and His personal return in power and glory.
  3. WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit indwells and gives life to believers, enables them to understand and apply the Scriptures, empowers them for godly living, and equips them for service and witness.
  4. WE BELIEVE that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, fully trustworthy, and the final authority in all matters of Christian faith and life.
  5. WE BELIEVE that each member of the human race is fallen, sinful and lost; that the shed blood of Jesus Christ provides the only ground for forgiveness of sins and justification to all who receive Him by faith; and that only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can they become children of God.
  6. WE BELIEVE that the one, holy, universal Church is the body of Christ, composed of all regenerate people. This redeemed community worships God and seeks to proclaim the Good News to all people.
  7. WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.​​
RWN Declaraţia de Credinţă (Romana)
  1. ​NOI CREDEM într-un Dumnezeu, care există veșnic în trei persoane: Tată, Fiu și Duh Sfânt.
  2. NOI CREDEM că Isus Hristos a fost conceput de Duhul Sfânt, S-a născut din fecioara Maria, a fost Dumnezeu adevărat și om adevărat care au existat într-o singură persoană și a fost fără de păcat. Noi credem în sacrificiul Lui reprezentativ și substituit, în renașterea trupească, în înălțarea Sa la Tatăl, în viața Lui prezentă ca Domn al tuturor, Înaltul Preot și Mijlocitor, și în întoarcerea Lui personală în putere și slavă.
  3. NOI CREDEM că Duhul Sfânt locuiește în credincioși și le dă viață, făcându-i capabili să înțeleagă și să aplice Scripturile, îi împuternicește să ducă o viață sfântă/evlavioasă, și îi echipează pentru slujire și mărturie.
  4. NOI CREDEM că Scripturile din Vechiul Testament și Noul Testament sunt Cuvântul inspirat al lui Dumnezeu, demn de încredere deplină, și autoritatea supremă în ceea ce privește credința și viața creștină.
  5. NOI CREDEM că fiecare membru al rasei umane este căzut, păcătos și pierdut; că sângele vărsat al lui Isus Hristos asigură singura temelie pentru iertarea păcatelor și numirea tuturor celor care Îl primesc pe El prin credință neprihăniți; și aceasta doar prin reînnoire de către Duhul Sfânt pot deveni copii ai lui Dumnezeu.
  6. NOI CREDEM că Biserica unică, sfântă și universală este trupul lui Hristos, format din toți oamenii reînnoiți. Această comunitate răscumpărată se închină lui Dumnezeu și caută să proclame Vestea Bună tuturor oamenilor.
  7. NOI CREDEM în învierea trupească a celor drepți și nedrepți, în binecuvântarea veșnică a celor mântuiți și pedeapsa vesnică a celor pierduți.
